Mechanisms of Action
GHK-Cu is a tripeptide (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine) complexed with a copper(II) ion. It functions both as a copper carrier and as a signalling molecule with remarkable breadth. Research documents effects on collagen and elastin synthesis, modulation of matrix metalloproteinases, antioxidant activity via copper-dependent enzyme systems (including superoxide dismutase), and influence on gene expression patterns linked to tissue remodelling and ageing.
